Reijiro Yauta
PhD Candidate, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo
Alongside research on moral abolitionism—the view that all moral practices should be abandoned—he asks what form of ethics could be acceptable to everyone. He founded this project to use fiction to draw fully on human imagination, anticipating and addressing ethical problems in distant future societies.

Kanako Takae
Specially Appointed Assistant Professor, Center for Human Nature, Artificial Intelligence, and Neuroscience, Hokkaido University
Her research in animal ethics, bioethics, and AI ethics critically examines how far established ethical theories can address new ideas and questions, while developing new values and norms. By drawing on fiction and science fiction to make not-yet-existing societies and technologies concrete, she aims to reveal future problems that cannot be measured by present values alone.

PHILOSOPHY × ENGINEERING
Masashi Takeshita
Researcher, Graduate School of Informatics, Nagoya University
His work on AI ethics spans philosophy and engineering. He uses natural language processing to reduce gender bias in AI and to incorporate ethical considerations into AI systems, while also examining how we should treat nonhuman beings such as animals, robots, and AI. He serves as a bridge between engineering and philosophy.
MEDICAL ETHICS × PPI
Riku Kono
Master’s Student, Graduate School of Health Management, Keio University
His research focuses on medical ethics, especially patient and public involvement (PPI), which treats patients as collaborators and members of the healthcare team. Through fiction, he explores ways to deepen understanding among people with different positions and experiences. Interested in connecting entertainment and ethics, he envisions ethics as a creative practice that generates new questions and dialogue.
